Irmgard Schaller

Baroque violin and viola

In 1985 I received my violin teaching diploma at the Mozarteum. Because I have always had a keen interest in the processes of learning and teaching, I am also qualified as an NLP-practioner and kinesiologist, and have recently started training to become a teacher of the Interactive Teaching Method of the Alexander Technique.
My intention is to pick everybody up wherever they are and help them with the next sensible steps … no matter if beginner or advanced, amateur or professional, or whether it is on the "modern" violin, viola or Baroque violin.
I have gathered my pedagogical experience over many years, with private pupils, seven years of summer courses for Early Music in Daroca, as a deputy teacher at Trinity College of Music London, as a guest professor for Baroque violin and viola at the Music Academy of Bydgoszcz - where I also taught chamber music, methodology and ornamentation - and currently teaching at the Musikhochschule of Cologne.
